Playfield Maint.
Up Mylar Removal PF Touchups Clear Coating

This page details the procedures I use for maintaining a Playfield.  Most pinball machines I get are usually in horrible shape, so I have to do a total shop to the Playfield.  Once the initial, thorough shopping has been done then I just perform normal maintenance.

To see detail lists of tasks performed during shop procedures via my Shopping A Pin page.  The procedures closely follow the steps described in Clay's document:

I picked up the Eight Ball playfield from Steve Kulpa, who was parting out a game.  Steve was very generous and gave me a good deal - FREE + $15 s/h.  The Playfield was in pretty good shape except for a bag of sugar was sitting on the board by the spinner target (see picture).  The sugar somehow became saturated and permanently became attached to the PF.

Here's full view picture of the playfield before anything has been done to it.  Really not in bad shape other than the "Sugar Residue" problem.  Let's see what we can do to bring this PF back to life.

Here's a picture of the products used to:

Seal the Backglass
Remove the Mylars
Clean used on cabinet, legs, etc (not on Playfield!)

This page is under construction and will be finished during the Spring of 2002.
